I Can't Wait For This! The First Official Poster For The Boys Is Frickin' Amazing!
Hello nerds!
Garth Ennis’ The Boys is a truly amazing comic, and if you’re unfamiliar, please read it. The story itself, as do most comic books, focuses on superheroes, but not in a manner you’re accustomed to.
The Boys take place in world where superheroes are real, and I do mean real, They kill people, have vices and some are truly terrible people, but they’re still “super”. Well, when one of the supers goes too far, a CIA backed group of superpowered mercs known as The Boys, well, they beat the shit out of the offending superhero or villain until they fall in line or die. Sometimes both.
In short, it’s the dog’s bollocks. Well, when word broke Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, the creative forces behind Ennis’ other comic book turned live action story, AMC’s Preacher, were making this into a show for Amazon, I was excited as shit. The image features the team, as they re-create the cover of The Boys #1.
This poster is a little slice of awesome and shows how spot on the casting for this show is. The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as "Wee" Hughie Campbell, Karen Fukuhara as The Female, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk Tomer Kapon as The Frenchman.
So. Much. Yes.
Rogen and Goldberg have assembled a spectacular cast, with a few recognizable faces and with a hefty budget behind this one, The Boys will be instantly put the the forefront of the live action superhero show. It’s going to top any fucking thing we’ve seen up to this point.
Unfortunately, there’s now premiere date for The Boys, but it’s likely the show will release at some point next year. Until then, back to the comics to dive back into this absolutely bonkers world that is non-stop entertainment.
