One James Franco Is Enough James Franco. Multiple Man Starring James Franco Is In The Works At Fox

Just when we thought things in the Fox X-Men universe couldn't get any worse, they once again, outdo themselves (Deadpool, not included). James Franco will be Multiple Man. Yes. Multiple Man. James Franco. Let that sink in.
Deadline is reporting that Wonder Woman writer, Allan Heinberg and X-Men producer, Simon Kinberg are developing the film at Fox and the Spider-Man 3 star is attached to play Jamie Madrox aka Multiple Man. For some reason.
“Multiple Man is Jamie Madrox, who, in the comics, conveyed his cloning powers at birth, when a second, identical version of him appeared after the doctor slapped the infant to get him to breathe. His father, a worker at the Los Alamos Nuclear Research Center, moved his family to a remote farm where his son — fitted with a special suit to control his powers designed by X-Men patriarch Professor Xavier — lived quietly until the suit malfunctioned and he began to go crazy. His cloning abilities drove Madrox to have various collisions and collaborations with both the X-Men and Fantastic Four.”
Sweet hell. At this point, I'm fairly certain that I do not and will not give two shits about this movie. Multiple Man movie is a pretty obscure character to be getting a standalone movie, especially when there are some many "top tier" mutants who have yet to see the big screen. This news is particularly disappointing considering the movie will indeed be set in the X-Men universe, and the last thing the franchise needs right now is another shithouse film to continue to mediocrity of X-Men: Apocalypse.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the X-Men and almost above any other superhero franchise out there, I want to enjoy its films. I'm pretty excited for the New Mutants and there have been glimmers of hope with some of the news we've heard about X-Men: Dark Phoenix, so the universe could finally be starting to get back on track. Let's hope that the Franco factor isn't the final nail in the coffin. Of course, the Disney deal could still happen and then the House of Mouse can take control and give us a full and complete Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Until then, at least we've still got Deadpool and friends.
