The Kingpin Returns For The Rebirth Of The Man Without Fear!
Hello nerds!
Daredevil executive producer and head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb, let loose some intriguing details about the upcoming third season of Daredevil on Netflix. While speaking to Deadline, he reveals that one of the MCU's best villains would be returning to once again face off against Matt Murdock and crew. Yes friends, Vincent D’Onofrio is back as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin.
Fuck. Yes. I'll take any and all helpings of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk they're willing to dish out. Hands down he is one of the best villains in the entire MCU, arguably the very best, and since all signs point to Season 3 adapting the "Born Again" arc, I think we're in for a potentially awesome effing season. Loeb also revealed a new showrunner would be taking over in the new season, and all I can say there is at least it's not Scott Buck.
Erik Oleson is taking over showrunner duties from the guys who oversaw Daredevil Season 2 and The Defenders, Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez. This isn't terribly surprising news, given the lukewarm reactions to both The Defenders and any part of Daredevil Season 2 that didn't feature Frank Castle. While Oleson was an executive producer and writer on Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, he's also done the same for Arrow on The CW. So, let's approach this change with guarded optimism.
No premiere date for Season 3 has been announced, but I think we can expect to see Daredevil out around this time next year.
