Hello nerds,
A while back, we learned Chris Rock would be writing the story for a reimagining of the Saw franchise. Rock would looking to take the franchise in a fresh direction, and since he’s a fan of the films, the notion of his involvement was terribly intriguing.
Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, Spiral: From The Book Of Saw, tells the story of a police detective (Chris Rock) and his new partner (Max Minghella) as they begin investigating a series of grisly murders; the victims of which are fellow police officers. All of whom, seemingly met their ends by way of some fairly Jigsaw-looking traps.
Well, thanks to the killer’s penchant for marking their crime scene red spirals, it’s not hard to connect this killer to the original Jigsaw’s creepy puppet, Billy. And given what is and what is not shown in the teaser, I cannot wait to see this movie. Spiral could be a great addition to the better horror franchises around.
Starring Chris Rock, Max Minghella, and Samuel L. Jackson, Spiral: From The Book Of Saw hits theaters on May 15, 2020.
